Shopping in Maastricht

Maastricht is a city where fashion lovers can shop to their heart’s content. Not only are all the basic fashion brands established here, there are also many surprising boutiques with unique pieces of clothing. Although Maastricht is a big city with a population of 122,000, visitors to Limburg’s capital will discover it is easily accessible, with many charming districts that each have their own distinctive character. We’ve provided a brief description below so you know what to expect!

If you travel to Maastricht by train, your shopping adventure will start in Wyck. This district is famous for its many unique boutiques and shops that you can freely wander into and that sell a wide variety of items, from clothes and accessories to antiques and designer goods. If you’re after something that nobody else has, Wyck is the best place to be!

The Stokstraat district is one of Maastricht’s most up-market neighbourhoods. Shoppers looking for exclusive brands have come to the right place here! Stokstraat is the central artery running through the district, flanked by narrow little streets that exude the atmosphere of a holiday abroad, making it a worthwhile stop for shoppers and non-shoppers alike.

Famous for its top-of-the-line lifestyle and interior design shops, Céramique exudes a business-like atmosphere. Shops specialising in beds and design are well-represented on Avenue Céramique in particular, but you will also find a number of supermarkets for everyday grocery shopping here.

Vrijthof Square

You probably know Vrijthof square from the concerts given here each year by André Rieu. The square is famous for its many convivial cafés and restaurants, where you can sit outdoors in summer or enjoy the cosy atmosphere inside in winter.

Jeker Quarter

A leisurely stroll through the city park will take you to the Jeker Quarter, a district with many galleries and surprising art shops. You will also find various traditional products here, such as artisan breads and other home-made products sold at the Bisschopsmolen (the Bishop’s Mill).

The Market Square: the name says it all. On Wednesdays and Fridays you can buy fresh produce, flowers and plants here, as well as all sorts of practical items for in and around the home. And if you simply want to relax, there are plenty of cafés and restaurants all around the square.

As you may have guessed, the name Entre Deux comes from its location in-between the Vrijthof and market squares. Centrally located at the heart of Maastricht, the shops at Entre Deux are easy to reach by car, public transport, bicycle and moped.
  • Entre Deux is a two-minute walk from the market square, where not only the local Veolia buses stop, but also the De Lijn buses from Belgium.
  • You can reach the shopping centre on foot from Maastricht Central Station in ten minutes.
  • There are supervised parking facilities for bikes and mopeds on the Vrijthof and market squares.

Parking in Maastricht

The municipality of Maastricht’s efforts towards creating sufficient parking space and keeping the city easily accessible by car will involve a portion of traffic being rerouted via the A2 tunnel at the end of 2016. That may sound very far away, but some of the work is already in progress and may affect your journey to us from elsewhere in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany. You will find more information on www.a2maastricht.nl. At present, Maastricht can still be reached by car without any problems and the city centre offers many parking facilities. Here are a few tips for parking your car in Maastricht:

Parking garages

Maastricht city centre offers over 7,000 parking spaces. Entre Deux is situated within walking distance of several outstanding parking facilities. There are two large parking garages in the direct vicinity: one at the Vrijthof and market squares and another at the Mosae Forum. The parking garages at Maasboulevard, Griend and Céramique Noord are all approximately a ten-minute walk from the shopping centre, as is the Sphinx car park.

Park & Walk

You can also choose the attractive ‘Park & Walk’ alternative, a special car park located at Cabergerweg that, although uncovered, offers secure and inexpensive parking. You can park here for an entire day for just €8.00. Walking through Capucijnenstraat you will be at Entre Deux in only eight minutes.

The city of Maastricht offers shoppers assistance in finding a parking space through its Parking Route Information System (PRIS). These signs will direct you to various parking facilities, while indicating the number of spaces currently available. The goal of this initiative is to keep parking in Maastricht pleasant as well as convenient.
